YouTube has introduced YouTube Premium Lite in India, offering an affordable way to enjoy ad-free video playback. The plan costs ₹89 per month, matching the student rate of the standard Premium plan, and is aimed at users who want ad-free viewing without the full suite of Premium features.

Key Details:

• Ad-Free Playback: Works on “most” videos from categories like gaming, fashion, beauty, and news.

• Exclusions: YouTube Music, background play, and offline downloads are not included. Ads may still appear on Shorts, music content, or during browsing/search.

• Compatibility: Works across phones, laptops, and smart TVs.

• Comparison: The standard YouTube Premium costs ₹149/month (Individual) or ₹1,490/year, with Family (₹299/month) and Duo (₹219/month) plans also available.

YouTube Premium Lite was previously available only in the US and now offers Indian users a budget-friendly option for an ad-free viewing experience.
