NSS Celebrates 57th Foundation Day in Bhind
The National Service Scheme (NSS) celebrated its 57th anniversary with great enthusiasm at Government Excellence Higher Secondary School No. 1 in Bhind city on September 24, 2026. Volunteers conveyed a message of de-addiction to society through a street play and a human chain.
Awareness Campaign and Cultural Performances
The event was presided over by Principal PS Chauhan, with Shalu Dohre, CEO of Janpad Panchayat Bhind, as the chief guest. The program commenced with the lighting of a lamp before images of Swami Vivekananda and Mother Saraswati. Volunteers then initiated the proceedings with the NSS goal song.
A street play themed 'Drug-Free Youth' captivated the audience with impressive performances by Shreya, Mahak, Chetna, Ranjana, Riya, and Roshni. Anjali, Nandini, and Sandhya mesmerized attendees with their dance recitals. The stage was skillfully managed by Anshika Mishra, Mahak Baghel, and Nitesh.
Youth's Role in Nation Building Emphasized
In her address, District CEO Shalu Dohre highlighted the critical importance of youth's active participation in nation-building. She stated that youth are the nation's greatest strength, and through platforms like NSS, students strengthen their character development by engaging in community service. Dohre emphasized that only drug-free youth can play a meaningful role in the nation's progress.
Human Chain and Anti-Drug Pledge
The program concluded with all attendees taking an oath for de-addiction. Furthermore, a large human chain was formed to spread the message of a 'Drug-Free India' to every household. This significant event was made successful by the gracious presence of over 150 volunteers and students, along with members of the school fraternity. Program Officer Dr. Dheeraj Singh Gurjar presented the report.
