Youth in Mahidpur Warned of Severe Consequences of Drug Abuse

Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign Held in Mahidpur

As part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a special campaign was conducted in Mahidpur on October 6, 2026, to raise awareness among youth about the severe consequences of drug abuse. Awareness programs on drug de-addiction were organized at the Government College and Government Excellence Higher Secondary School.

The primary objective of these programs was to motivate young students to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy, positive lifestyle. During the events, a group of artists from Ujjain presented musical and entertaining performances. These presentations effectively illustrated the physical, mental, and social damages caused by drug consumption.

Promoting Public Awareness Against Drugs

The program held at the Government College, Mahidpur, was also observed as Anti-Prohibition Week. Alongside artistic performances, students received detailed information on various aspects of drug use and its negative impact on society. The program specifically focused on encouraging the younger generation to speak out against drugs and help make their surroundings drug-free.

Similarly, a special awareness session was organized at the Government Excellence Higher Secondary School. This session cautioned students about serious health problems, academic hindrances, and social isolation related to drug abuse. They were also advised on how to avoid the temptation of drugs and how to help someone who might be struggling with addiction.

Official Presence and Campaign Significance

Social Security Officer Shivani Parmar (Janpad Panchayat Mahidpur) from the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, and Social Security Officer Kavita Bhimavad from the Mahidpur Municipality were present at these awareness programs. Additionally, the Principal of the Government College, lecturers, and a large number of students were also in attendance.

The primary aim of this campaign was to foster a deeper understanding of drug abuse among youth and inspire them to live healthy lives as responsible citizens. Officials emphasized the importance of the continuity of such events to make the fight against drugs more effective.
