Youth Dies Tragically After Snakebite While Cleaning Drain

Tragic Incident in Paniyala Village

A pall of gloom descended upon a town in the police station area when a 35-year-old youth died after being bitten by a snake while cleaning a drain. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police became active and sent the body for post-mortem after completing the Panchnama proceedings.

According to information received, Sarvesh Pal, a resident of the town, approximately 35 years old, returned home around 5 AM on Monday from Panipat. Shortly after arriving home, he went to his shop and returned with paan masala and bathing soap. Upon returning home, he kept his belongings in the 'jharokha' (window/balcony).

Drain Cleaning Turns Deadly

Villagers reported that Sarvesh then began cleaning a drain flowing near his house. During this time, a snake hidden in the drain suddenly bit him on the finger. Immediately after the snakebite, Sarvesh's condition deteriorated rapidly, and he died within a short period. This tragic incident caused deep shock and grief among his family and surrounding villagers.

Upon receiving news of the incident, Police Chowki In-charge Rahul Kumar immediately arrived at the scene. He completed the necessary Panchnama procedures and then sent the body for post-mortem to confirm the cause of death.

Official Reaction and Family Situation

When contacted for information regarding the incident, Lekhpal (Revenue Officer) Jyoti stated that she had no information about the event and would gather details by contacting the village head (Pradhan). The deceased Sarvesh Pal's wife, Rita, and his grandmother, Satyavati, informed that Sarvesh has two children, Prince and Prateek, who are currently residing in Panipat with their mother. It is deeply unfortunate that despite being informed of the incident, the family could not immediately reach the scene. The incident has cast a wave of sorrow over the entire village.
