'Youth Connect' Program Held at Madhav College on De-addiction

De-addiction Awareness Program at Madhav College

The 'Nashamukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Youth Connect' program was organized at Madhav College in Gwalior by the nodal unit of the National Service Scheme (NSS). The primary objective of this initiative was to sensitize youth about the severe consequences of drug abuse and inspire them to build a healthy, empowered, and drug-free society.

This event was designated as one of the seven nodal locations across Madhya Pradesh for the dissemination of de-addiction and awareness campaigns. Madhav College has been selected as one of the 150 nodal centers nationwide under the Indian government's 'My Bharat' program. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, Senior NSS Program Officer for the Gwalior-Chambal division, has been appointed as the nodal officer.

Expert Guidance and Pledge Against Drugs

The program featured Dr. Bindu Singhal as the key speaker and Saurabh Bhargav, a youth icon and President Award-winning NSS volunteer, as the special guest. They provided students with detailed information on the physical, mental, and social repercussions of drug abuse. Through a presentation (PPT), they urged the youth to stay away from drugs and steer their lives in a positive direction.

Principal of the college, Dr. Shiv Kumar Sharma, administered a pledge to the students present, urging them to completely abstain from drugs. He emphasized that youth are the strength of the nation, and their drug-free existence will ensure a more secure and robust future for the country. V.K. Prahlad Ji from the Brahma Kumaris organization also inspired students to adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle, strongly urging them to stay completely away from addiction.

Promoting a Healthy Lifestyle

During the event, the message 'Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life' was prominently broadcast. Participants were also distributed certificates of participation. The program commenced and concluded in a patriotic fervor, with Dr. Rupali Gokhale leading the rendition of 'Vande Mataram'. The proceedings were managed by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, and the vote of thanks was delivered by District Organizer NSS Gwalior, Dr. Manoj Awasthi.

Numerous NSS officers including Dr. Sarita Dixit, Dr. Rajesh Mishra, NCC Officer Lieutenant Mulam Singh, Dr. Deepak Shinde, Dr. Prashant Sahu, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Dr. Deepti Narang, along with other college faculty members and a large number of NSS volunteers, were present. This event played a significant role in spreading awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse and inspiring them to carry the message of de-addiction to their families and communities.
