Youth Congress Protests BJP Headquarters Over Paper Leaks

On Wednesday, Youth Congress activists marched to gherao the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in New Delhi, questioning the central government's policies and the credibility of the examination system.

Protesters also demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Youth Congress workers began gathering from various areas early in the morning before proceeding as an organized group towards the BJP headquarters.

They carried banners and placards with slogans such as "Stop Paper Leaks," "Stop Tampering with Youth's Future," and "Education Minister Resign." The activists alleged that repeated paper leak incidents have darkened the future of millions of youths across the country, and the government has completely failed to address this serious problem.

Concerns Over Examination System Irregularities

In their addresses, Youth Congress leaders stated that alleged irregularities and paper leaks in several crucial examinations, including the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), have eroded student trust. They emphasized that the repeated cancellation of exams and paper leaks have caused immense mental, academic, and financial losses to millions of aspirants.

Leaders asserted that in light of these circumstances, the Union Education Minister should take moral responsibility and resign from his post immediately. The Youth Congress alleges that this is not merely an issue of one examination but a question of the future of crores of Indian youth and the credibility of the entire education system.

They demanded that the government take immediate concrete steps to make the examination system more secure and transparent. The police had tightened security at several sensitive locations with barricades to stop the Youth Congress workers marching towards the BJP headquarters. Reports of scuffles between the police and protesters also emerged from some areas.

Additional police force was deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. Police also detained several protesters to prevent them from proceeding further. During this time, Youth Congress leaders accused the government of attempting to suppress the voices of students and youth. They warned that their protest would continue until strict action is taken against paper leak incidents and the culprits are severely punished.

Government's Stance and Future Demands

The BJP has previously responded to these allegations, stating that the government is continuously taking effective steps to make the examination system more secure and transparent. Furthermore, strict legal action is being taken against those found guilty in paper leak cases. However, the opposition believes that the steps taken so far are insufficient and that concrete political accountability must also be established to restore the confidence of the youth.

Congress leaders reiterated their demand for a fair and time-bound investigation into paper leak cases, strict legal action against the culprits, and making the examination system fully transparent and secure. They also warned that if the government does not take decisive steps on the demands of the youth promptly, the movement will be further expanded.
