Shocking Incident at Gauri Talab
A startling incident unfolded in Bhind city, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday evening when a 23-year-old woman, identified as Anjali Baghel, allegedly jumped into Gauri Talab. The incident occurred near the temple on BTI Road.
Eyewitnesses reported that Anjali, who was riding on a scooter with her brother and heading to the market, suddenly asked him to stop the vehicle. Without uttering a word, she walked towards the pond and jumped into the deep water before anyone could react.
Rescue Operation Underway, No Trace of Woman
The young woman's brother immediately raised an alarm and informed the local police. The Dehat police station arrived at the scene and initiated a rescue operation. Given the gravity of the situation, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was also summoned.
Since the incident, which took place around 6 PM on Saturday, the SDRF team has been actively searching for Anjali. Despite their persistent efforts, no trace of Anjali Baghel had been found as of the time of this report. Divers are exploring the deeper parts of the pond, but no success has been achieved yet.
Police Investigating Motive
Dehat Station House Officer Shivpratap Singh Rajawat confirmed that the rescue operation is ongoing with full vigour, and the SDRF team is making every possible effort. The police are also questioning Anjali's family to ascertain the reasons behind her drastic action.
Currently, the motive behind the woman's jump into the pond remains unclear. Initial inquiries with the family have not yielded significant information, making it more challenging for the police to uncover the truth behind the incident.
The woman's family, present at the scene, is inconsolable, while the police are conducting a thorough investigation. A large number of local residents also gathered at the site, eager to learn about the incident. The police have appealed to the public to maintain peace and cooperate with the rescue efforts.
