Woman Found Hanged in Farrukhabad Home, Investigation Underway

FARURAKHABAD: A shocking incident has sent ripples of concern through the local community of Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. A 25-year-old woman was found dead by hanging in her home in the Rajiv Nagar area on Sunday morning. Local police and a forensic team were promptly dispatched to the scene to collect evidence.

The deceased, identified as Pooja, daughter of Ramkumar, was alone at home. Her parents, Ramkumar and Radha Devi, had gone to Farrukhabad city to purchase medicine and returned around 11 AM. Upon their return, they found the room door locked from the inside.

Despite repeated calls, Pooja did not respond. Concerned, the family peered through the window and discovered Pooja hanging from the ceiling, apparently using her dupatta. Immediate action was taken, with the family contacting Dial-112.

Police and Forensic Probe Underway

Police arrived at the scene and, after videography, managed to open the room door. The forensic team conducted a thorough examination of the premises, gathering crucial evidence that may shed light on the circumstances leading to the suspected suicide. Sub-Inspector Harish Kumar has completed the inquest proceedings, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Pooja was the second of four siblings. Her two younger brothers, Sagar and Suraj, work out of town, and her elder sister is married. DSP Amod Kumar Singh also visited the location upon receiving information about the incident and gathered detailed information from the family.

Suspected Love Affair, Police Investigating

According to the family, two days prior, Pooja's father had overheard her talking to a young man on the phone. This led him to admonish her and take possession of her phone. It was also revealed that the family had previously attempted to counsel Pooja regarding her conversations with the young man.

However, the police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the definitive and ultimate reasons behind the suicide. A thorough probe is currently underway.
