Woman Dies by Suicide Over Illness

Farrukhabad, July 24, 2026 – In a deeply distressing incident in Nagla Kewal village, under the jurisdiction of Rajepur police station, a 56-year-old woman took her own life by hanging herself at her home on Friday. The tragedy has plunged her family into profound shock and cast a pall of grief over the entire village.

The deceased has been identified as Kamla Devi, wife of Jaduvir Singh. According to sources, Kamla Devi had been suffering from a serious illness for a considerable period, which had caused her immense distress. Around 3 PM on Friday, she reportedly used a rope to create a noose and hanged herself from a nail on the wall in her home's veranda. Upon being alerted, her family members immediately brought her down, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kamla Devi Struggled with Illness

Kamla Devi, a resident of Nagla Kewal village, had been unwell for many months. Despite undergoing various treatments, her health showed no signs of improvement, which significantly weakened her mentally. The physical pain caused by her illness and the uncertainty of her future left her so despondent that she made the heartbreaking decision to end her life.
