Family Alleges Negligence After Woman's Death at Private Clinic
Guna, October 5, 2026 – A 35-year-old woman, identified as Tarabai Kushwah from Myana, passed away on Saturday afternoon while receiving treatment at a private clinic located on Hat Road in Guna city. Her distraught family has lodged serious accusations of medical negligence against the clinic's management, leading to a protest.
Allegations of Mishandled Treatment and Delayed Referral
According to the family, Tarabai had been suffering from a fever for the past two to three days. Her condition reportedly worsened on Saturday, prompting them to bring her to the private clinic. The family claims that after being administered an intravenous drip at the clinic, her condition deteriorated rapidly.
Following the apparent decline in her health at the clinic, the doctor allegedly referred her to another private hospital. However, Tarabai succumbed to her condition en route to the hospital. Upon hearing the news of her death, the agitated family returned to the clinic to voice their grievances and demand an impartial investigation.
Police Launch Investigation into the Incident
City Kotwali police were immediately alerted and arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control. Station House Officer Rajkumar Sharma stated that the deceased's body has been sent for post-mortem examination to the district hospital. The exact cause of death will be ascertained once the post-mortem report is available.
Police have summoned the doctor and the deceased's family to the Kotwali station to gather information about the incident. The situation at the clinic is currently calm, and the police are actively collecting evidence given the gravity of the matter. Necessary legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and the ongoing investigation.
A medical team will play a crucial role in preparing the post-mortem report. The investigation will also involve reviewing the clinic's records and recording the doctor's statement to identify any instances of negligence.
