West Central Railway reports a significant revenue surge of over ₹163 crore from coaching and sundry sources in the first four months of FY 2026-27.

West Central Railway Surpasses Revenue Targets
West Central Railway has generated a total revenue of ₹163 crore 93 lakh from other coaching and sundry (miscellaneous) income during the first four months of the financial year 2026-27. This marks a substantial increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year, a success attributed to improved operational and customer-centric services under the guidance of the General Manager and senior officials.
Detailed Revenue Breakdown
Data reveals that ₹67 crore 59 lakh was earned from other coaching services and ₹96 crore 34 lakh from sundry income during this period. The revenue from other coaching services saw an 11.63 percent rise from ₹60 crore 55 lakh in the previous year. Similarly, sundry income experienced a 2.30 percent growth, increasing from ₹94 crore 17 lakh last year.
July Sees Remarkable Revenue Growth
The month of July 2026 also witnessed impressive revenue figures, with ₹17 crore 1 lakh earned from other coaching and ₹20 crore 56 lakh from sundry sources. This represents a notable 34.47 percent increase in other coaching revenue compared to ₹12 crore 65 lakh in the same month last year.
Strategies for Revenue Enhancement
West Central Railway has actively promoted various innovations and new concepts to boost non-fare revenue. These initiatives include contracts for catering, parking, the 'One Station One Product' initiative, establishment of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras, and related agreements. Efforts are also being made to encourage commercial advertising, multipurpose stalls, and vinyl wrapping on trains.
Under the New Innovative Non-Fare Revenue Idea Scheme (NINFRIS), new schemes are being implemented to develop novel revenue streams. West Central Railway remains committed to continuously increasing its core other coaching and sundry income and to sustain these gains in the future.
