Shamsabad, Farrukhabad | July 24, 2026 – The construction of a drinking water supply pipeline in Shamsabad town, within the Farrukhabad district, has led to a critical waterlogging situation in several localities. The accumulated water on the roads has significantly disrupted local commutes for residents.

Nagar Panchayat Seeks Immediate Intervention from Jal Nigam

In light of the escalating problem, the Nagar Panchayat Shamsabad has formally requested the Jal Nigam (Urban) for prompt intervention and a lasting solution. An official letter dispatched by the Executive Officer of the Nagar Panchayat to the Executive Engineer of the Jal Nigam (Urban) highlights that inadequate drainage systems following the pipeline laying process are the primary cause of the water accumulation.

Impact on Residents and Identified Problem Areas

The waterlogging is causing considerable inconvenience to the general public. The Nagar Panchayat has identified several affected areas, including near Garhi Masjid, near Kuldeep Samosa Wala in Mohalla Bajarkala, near Sarwar Guest House in Mohalla Bazar Mandi, near the former MP's residence in Mohalla Garhi, near Shakeel's shop in Mohalla Sherwani Tola, and the vicinity of the Community Health Center Shamsabad.

Authorities Notified for Swift Resolution

The accumulation of water on roads in these zones poses difficulties for both pedestrians and vehicular traffic. To ensure a swift and effective resolution, the Nagar Panchayat has also informed the Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue)/Nodal Officer Local Bodies and the President of the Nagar Panchayat about the issue. Residents of Shamsabad are now keenly awaiting action from the Jal Nigam to alleviate this persistent waterlogging problem.
