Major Breakthrough in Fugitive Apprehension
Bareilly Police have achieved a significant success by apprehending a warrant holder who had been evading the grasp of the law for approximately four decades. The team from the Bhojipura Police Station arrested the accused, identified as Aziz Khan, in Sultanpur. Khan had been absconding since 1986.
Decades-Long Manhunt Concludes
Sources indicate that a case was registered against Aziz Khan in 1986 under Section 3/7 of the EC Act. At the time, the accused was working as a driver in Dhaura Tanda, Bareilly. He had remained at large since committing the offense. Investigations at his ancestral address revealed that he was originally a resident of Sailkha village in the Dostpur Police Station area of Sultanpur district.
Thorough Investigation Leads to Arrest
After considerable effort and meticulous investigation, the Bhojipura Police successfully traced the accused. The team traveled to Sultanpur on September 21, 2026, and arrested Aziz Khan. He was subsequently presented before the honorable court and remanded to judicial custody.

The arrest of this warrant holder, who was absconding for forty years, has been deemed a significant accomplishment for the police. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bareilly, Anurag Arya, specially commended the performance of the Bhojipura Police team responsible for this challenging arrest.
Reward for Exemplary Service
Recognizing the excellent performance of the team members, SSP Arya awarded them with cash rewards. Inspector Kunwar Bahadur Singh received Rs. 7,500, Sub-Inspector Ranjeet Kumar was awarded Rs. 5,000, and Constable Sanjay Sagar received Rs. 4,000. He encouraged the police personnel to continue performing their duties with similar dedication and promptness in the future.
