Notorious Gangster Gunned Down in Baghpat Encounter

In a joint operation by the police and the Meerut Special Task Force (STF) on Friday, July 25, 2026, notorious gangster Vipul alias 'Khooni', who had a ₹50,000 bounty on his head, was killed in an encounter. The incident occurred in the Singhaoli Aheer police station area of Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district.

Vipul alias 'Khooni' was a sharp shooter for the Susheel Moonchh gang and was implicated in a total of 38 serious cases, including murder, robbery, extortion, and gangster activities. Following intelligence inputs, a joint team of Baghpat police and Meerut STF initiated a search for the gangster.

When the police team attempted to apprehend him, Vipul and his associates opened fire on the police. The police retaliated, and Vipul alias 'Khooni' sustained severe injuries. He was rushed to a Meerut hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police stated that the gangster had been absconding for a long time and was actively involved in various criminal activities.

A Long Criminal Career

Vipul alias 'Khooni' was a history-sheeter at the Kandhla police station and began his criminal career approximately 21 years ago, in 2005. Over two decades, he committed numerous heinous crimes, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, extortion, and under the stringent Gangster Act.

Due to his escalating notoriety and the severity of his crimes, the Shamli police had announced a reward of ₹50,000 for information leading to his arrest or capture. This bounty was intended to bring him to justice and dismantle his operations.

Affiliation with the Susheel Moonchh Gang

Vipul alias 'Khooni' was identified as a sharp shooter for the notorious Susheel Moonchh gang, an organization known for its criminal activities across Uttar Pradesh and surrounding regions. His swift operational style and ability to execute any planned crime made him a significant figure within the gang.

His death is considered a major blow to the Susheel Moonchh gang, and authorities view it as a crucial step towards dismantling the organization. The elimination of such a dangerous and wanted member is being hailed as a significant success for the district police and the STF.

Recoveries from the Scene

Police recovered two pistols, a substantial quantity of ammunition, and a motorcycle from the encounter site. The motorcycle was reportedly the vehicle used by the gangster during the incident. Investigations are underway to determine if these recovered items were used in other criminal activities.

Authorities believe this encounter will significantly aid in disrupting the crime network operating in the region. The successful operation against a long-absconding and dangerous gang member is being regarded as a major achievement.
