Vindhyachal Division Leads State in Grievance Redressal System Ranking

Vindhyachal Division has achieved the first position in the state for its average days in marking and forwarding references within the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS), a crucial public grievance redressal system of the Uttar Pradesh government.

In the rankings released for August 2023, Vindhyachal Division secured 105 out of 120 points, reflecting an 87.50 percent progress and surpassing all other 18 divisions in the state. This achievement was made possible by the division's efficient process of forwarding Chief Minister's references, District Magistrate references, and other high-level references from the divisional level to districts and departments, according to the report issued by the government.

Teamwork Fuels Significant Success

Divisional Commissioner of Vindhyachal Division, Shri Rajesh Prakash, expressed his delight at this accomplishment and congratulated all the officers and staff deployed in the IGRS cell. He attributed this success to effective teamwork.

“The credit for this achievement goes to the effective teamwork. This was possible due to the excellent coordination among the District Magistrates of Mirzapur, Bhadohi, and Sonbhadra, the divisional officers of all departments, and the review officers posted at the divisional headquarters,” stated Shri Prakash.

He emphasized that the government's intention is to ensure prompt and qualitative resolution of public complaints, with timely forwarding of grievances to departments being the first step. Vindhyachal Division has set a precedent for the state in this regard.

Emphasis on Quality Alongside Speed

The Divisional Commissioner instructed the division's officers and staff to maintain this work ethic going forward. He stressed that speed alone is insufficient and that special attention must be paid to quality.

He further directed that no reference should be left unresolved without a concrete solution and that complainants should receive satisfactory responses. He acknowledged the significant contribution of Mirzapur, Bhadohi, and Sonbhadra districts in this achievement, as they also resolved references rapidly at their respective levels.

IGRS Given Top Priority

The Divisional Commissioner consistently reviews the IGRS during divisional review meetings and has expressed displeasure with negligent officers. For the past few months, the Divisional Commissioner has placed IGRS as his top priority.

He has issued clear directives that no officer should delay IGRS references and that clear and satisfactory answers should be provided in the resolution reports. The Divisional Commissioner congratulated all Additional Commissioners, Joint Development Commissioners, all Divisional Officers, and the IGRS Desk In-charge for this achievement, urging them to work even harder to maintain the number-1 position in the state in the coming months.
