Residents of the village of Shekhupur Jakholi, located in the Bhadohpur block of Etawah district, are facing immense hardship due to severe waterlogging near the railway line. The persistent issue has completely disrupted local transportation, prompting villagers to appeal to railway authorities for the construction of an overbridge or underpass to resolve their plight.

A memorandum addressed to the DRM Prayagraj was submitted to the Station Superintendent of Ikdil Railway Station, R.K. Goyal. The villagers highlighted in their memorandum that waterlogging in the culvert near railway pole numbers 1148/20, 22 has completely halted all movement in the area, significantly impacting daily life.

Farmers are compelled to travel several kilometers extra to reach their fields, resulting in wasted time, money, and labor. The waterlogging also prevents students from attending their educational institutions, directly affecting their studies. Furthermore, residents face considerable difficulty accessing essential services such as the weekly market, goat market, and community health center in Ikdil town.

During this appeal, Satyagraha Convenor Deepak Raj stated that a memorandum had previously been submitted to the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw through the local MLA, Sarita Bhadauria, requesting the construction of a bridge. Considering the daily struggles and escalating difficulties faced by the villagers, he urged the railway administration to expedite this construction work.

The memorandum strongly implores the DRM Prayagraj to prioritize public welfare by constructing an overbridge or underpass in the area without delay, thereby providing relief to the villagers from this critical problem. Village head Pramod Kumar, along with Lakhan Singh and Santosh Kumar, were also present during the submission of the memorandum.
