In Maholi village, Ashoknagar district, a three-day agitation initiated by locals over the removal of the statue of Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi has ended. The matter was resolved following the intervention of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Upon coming to his notice, the administration swiftly reinstated the statue to its original location, bringing relief to the villagers who expressed their gratitude to the Union Minister.

The incident occurred on the night of August 10th, when local residents installed the statue of Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi at the Maholi intersection as a mark of respect. However, the administration seized the statue shortly thereafter. In protest of this action, the community began an indefinite protest on August 12th, causing widespread anger among the local population.

As soon as the matter reached the attention of Union Minister for Communications, Electronics & Information Technology, and the Member of Parliament from Guna, Jyotiraditya Scindia, he immediately contacted the concerned administrative officials. Understanding the sentiments of the residents and the importance of honoring Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi, Scindia directed the authorities to reinstate the statue and take appropriate action. Consequently, the administration made a swift decision and reinstalled the statue at its designated spot.

Local Representatives Facilitate Dialogue

Union Minister Scindia also actively involved local representatives in resolving this sensitive issue. He dispatched leaders such as Pichhore MLA Pritam Lodhi, Chanderi MLA Jagannath Raghuwanshi, Ramgopal Rajput Lodhi, and BJP Ashoknagar District President Alok Tiwari to engage in dialogue with representatives of the Lodhi community. These public representatives assured the community that their sentiments would be fully respected and the statue of Veerangana Rani Avantibai Lodhi would be installed according to the community's wishes.
