Lawyers Continue Strike Against Online Land Mutation
The protest by lawyers in the Utralla tehsil of Balrampur district against the online process for land mutation continued on Tuesday. The strike has completely halted judicial work at the tehsil court for the past fortnight, causing significant hardship to the public.
Traffic Disrupted by Protest March
A large number of lawyers, led by Bar Association President Prahlad Yadav and General Secretary Ravi Shankar Mishra, took out a procession from the tehsil premises. The procession reached Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Chowk, where demonstrators staged a road blockade while raising slogans against the government. Traffic was completely disrupted for nearly an hour.
Traffic Blockade Lifted After Assurances
Upon receiving information, the Additional District Magistrate arrived at the scene and held talks with the protesting lawyers. The lawyers ended the traffic blockade after receiving positive assurances from the officials regarding their demands. However, Bar Association President Prahlad Yadav clarified that the protest would continue until the online mutation process is completely abolished.
