UP Government Launches Service Corporation for Outsourced Workers, CM Yogi Inaugurates UPSOS

Major Initiative for Outsourced Employees in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is set to witness significant changes in the lives of its millions of outsourced employees. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh Outsourcing Service Corporation (UPSOS) from Lok Bhawan in Lucknow on Tuesday.

The initiative aims to guarantee fair remuneration, social security, and dignity for outsourced personnel working in various government offices, municipalities, and corporations across the state. Additionally, provisions have been made for compensation in case of accidents. During the launch, the Chief Minister unveiled the UPSOS digital portal, website, and logo. Demonstration checks were also distributed to outsourced employees.

The Chief Minister extended his greetings and best wishes to these employees for this significant welfare measure ahead of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The event in Lucknow was broadcast live in several districts of the state, where outsourced employees benefited in the presence of local public representatives and officials.

New Framework and Benefits for Outsourced Employees

With the establishment of the Uttar Pradesh Outsourcing Service Corporation, a minimum wage/honorarium of ₹30,000 per month has been mandated for outsourced employees. This move provides much-needed relief to workers who have faced exploitation for decades. Previously exploited by agencies, these personnel will now receive various facilities transparently under the new system, curbing exploitation.

The new framework also prioritizes the safety of outsourced employees' families. They will receive accident insurance coverage ranging from ₹20 lakh to ₹50 lakh in case of accidents or disasters. Provisions include up to ₹10 lakh for fire incidents, ₹5 lakh for critical illnesses, and up to ₹10 lakh for air ambulance services if required. Furthermore, financial assistance is available for children's education, with ₹8 lakh for a son's education and ₹10 lakh for a daughter's education, along with aid for the daughter's marriage.

Emphasis on Transparency and Accountability

Through this initiative, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has clearly stated the state government's intention to provide better services, respect, and social security to outsourced personnel. A key objective of this system is to protect the interests of these workers while strengthening transparency and accountability in government operations.

Under the new arrangement, outsourced employees cannot be terminated arbitrarily, ensuring greater job security and stability in their service tenure. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present at the main event in Lucknow.

District-Level Inauguration and Distribution

A grand event was held at the Vikas Bhawan in Mirzapur, where local MLAs Ratnakar Mishra, Ramashankar Singh Patel, and Suchismita Maurya, along with Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Prakash, District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar, Chairman Cooperatives Jagdish Singh Patel, President Nagar Palika Parishad Mirzapur Shyam Sundari Kesari, and Chief Development Officer Vishal Kumar, lit lamps to mark the inauguration.

Locally, demonstration checks for increased salaries were provided to sanitation workers. Additionally, demonstration checks were distributed under the Labour Department's Labour Samman Yojana for outstanding work by laborers and for the education and marriage expenses of their daughters.

Appreciation from Public Representatives

Addressing the program, the MLAs lauded the Chief Minister's commendable initiative. MLA Ratnakar Mishra stated that this is a very important and joyous day for millions of outsourced employees in the state and district. MLA Ramashankar Singh Patel described the minimum honorarium of ₹30,000, along with insurance and financial security provisions, as a 'unique initiative for grassroots workers'.

MLA Suchismita Maurya remarked that this step will halt the exploitation of outsourced employees and ensure they receive various benefits transparently. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for fulfilling the long-standing demand for salary increments, security, and respect for these workers.

Chairman Cooperatives Jagdish Singh Patel and President Nagar Palika Parishad Mirzapur Shyam Sundar Kesari also hailed the new system as a praiseworthy move that will bring about significant positive changes in the lives of employees. They noted that employees facing financial hardship will receive appropriate pay scales, and exploitation in departments will be curbed. They will also benefit from increased PF and ESIC contributions.

All present conveyed their heartfelt thanks to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for this significant decision. Chief Development Officer Vishal Kumar welcomed the guests, and Gram Panchayat Officer Rajesh Tiwari successfully anchored the program. Project Director DRDA Dharmjeet Singh, Deputy Commissioner NRLM Ramashankar Singh, Executive Officer Nagar Palika Parishad Mirzapur Goa Lal, and other officials and outsourced employees were also in attendance.
