Farmers' Livelihoods Destroyed by Unseasonal Deluge

The rural areas of Bareilly district have been hit hard by several days of unseasonal heavy rainfall and strong winds, crippling farmers. This natural disaster has caused extensive damage to cash crops such as paddy, sugarcane, and bananas, ruining months of hard work.

Assessment of Crop Losses

Laden Mansoori, the District President of the Azad Adhikar Sena and son of senior leader Laik Ahmed Masoori, personally visited the fields on Sunday to assess the damage. He went down to the ground, toured the affected areas, and understood the plight of the farmers. Mansoori witnessed harvested paddy ears and lush sugarcane plants flattened on the ground, completely ruined by the strong winds. Banana plantations also suffered significant damage from the torrential downpour.

Waterlogging in the fields left farmers visibly worried about their future. Their faces reflected a deep concern for what lies ahead, highlighting the severity of the crisis.

Assurance of Support for Farmers

After listening to the farmers' accounts, Laden Mansoori assured them of all possible assistance. He stated that the Azad Adhikar Sena will strongly advocate for the farmers' rights with the administration.

Mansoori announced that the organization will soon submit a memorandum demanding the formation of a joint team from the Revenue and Agriculture departments. This team must immediately conduct a physical survey of crops in every village.

Mansoori emphasized that based on the survey, an accurate assessment should be made to provide prompt and appropriate compensation to the affected farmers. He warned that if the administration fails to conduct the crop survey in a timely manner, farmers will face a serious crisis in supporting their families.

Farmers Appreciate the Initiative

Dozens of farmers in the region appreciated Laden Mansoori's initiative during this time. They expressed hope that the administration will take this matter seriously and begin relief operations soon to help them overcome this difficult period.
