Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Giriraj Singh, expressed his delight at the publication of the second edition of the magazine 'Prakriti Prahari' on August 20, 2026, in Patna. He linked environmental protection directly to the survival of humanity and described the initiative as a positive step towards establishing balance between nature and human life.

During a special Facebook Live dialogue organized by 'Teachers of Bihar' on the theme 'Prakriti Prahari: From Thoughts to Actions', Minister Singh stated that safeguarding nature is indeed safeguarding humanity. He underscored that creating public awareness for environmental conservation is the most critical need of the hour. This event was organized by 'Teachers of Bihar' with the aim of transforming nature conservation into a mass movement and increasing environmental awareness within society. The second edition of 'Prakriti Prahari' is part of this campaign.

Significant topics such as environmental conservation, the role of educational institutions, and society's collective responsibility were discussed in depth during this live dialogue.

Role of Educational Institutions in Environmental Conservation

Mr. Mehtab Rahmani, State Program Officer of the Bihar Education Project Council, Patna, emphasized the need for simple and practical changes to connect children and the school community with environmental conservation. He urged the adoption of electricity saving, dense tree plantation, and water conservation in daily life, believing these small efforts can collectively create a significant impact.

Mr. Sujeet Kumar Das, District Program Officer (Primary Education and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) from Sitamarhi, highlighted the development of nutrition gardens in schools as an effective means to foster a connection between children and nature. He also suggested promoting the concept of 'digital fasting', where individuals disconnect from digital devices for a period to spend time in nature and understand the importance of the natural environment.

'Prakriti Prahari': Vision and Future Plans

Mr. Abhishek Kumar, the editor of 'Prakriti Prahari', shared the magazine's core objective, its format, and future plans. He explained that the magazine is more than just a publication; it's a platform to translate thoughts into actions and strengthen environmental conservation efforts through public participation.

The primary goal is to foster positive consciousness in society regarding water conservation, tree plantation, cleanliness, biodiversity protection, and environmental responsibility. Mr. Kumar stressed that nature conservation is not the responsibility of a single person or organization but a collective responsibility for all. He believes that small individual efforts can lay the foundation for significant changes.

'Prakriti Prahari's core concept is to convert ideas into concrete actions and transform these actions into a mass movement, thereby ensuring broad public support and active participation in environmental conservation.
