Understanding India Through Swami Vivekananda's Teachings
Gwalior | October 1, 2026 – A four-day leadership and training camp for the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Jiwaji University, Gwalior, concluded with insightful sessions for the volunteers. Speakers highlighted the importance of nation-building, the relevance of values in the age of artificial intelligence, and cyber security.
The chief guest, Commissioner Ajay Khemria, addressed the youth, stating that studying the teachings of Swami Vivekananda is crucial for a true understanding of India's consciousness. Citing the books of Narendra Kohli, he noted the significant challenge of maintaining values in today's era of artificial intelligence (AI). Khemria encouraged volunteers to actively participate in social service by adopting the principles of 'Panch Parivartan' (Five Transformations).
Emphasis on Cyber Security Awareness
Additional Superintendent of Police Sujaval Jagga provided important and practical information regarding cyber security. He clarified that fear and greed are the primary drivers of cybercrimes. Students were strictly advised to protect their personal data, never share OTPs under any circumstances, and not to disclose their bank account details to any unknown person.
Jagga also cautioned them to be wary of emerging threats like 'digital arrest' to prevent falling victim to online fraud.
Resolving to Protect Values and Achieve Goals
The university's Principal, Sunil Pathak, reiterated Swami Vivekananda's messages, inspiring the youth to remain determined in achieving their goals. He emphasized that Vivekananda's thoughts are as relevant today as they were in his time, and that youth should draw inspiration from them.
This entire training camp was conducted under the guidance of program coordinator Dr. Harishankar Singh Kansana. Dr. Narendra Kumar Verma led the sessions as the moderator. Several academicians and dignitaries, including Dr. Manoj Awasthi, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, Hindu Singh Dhakad, Prof. H. L. Patel, and Prof. Vinod Singh Kushwah, were present.
