Kolaras Gains Crucial Rail Connectivity with Ujjaini Express Halt

Kolaras and surrounding regions are celebrating a significant milestone as the Ujjaini Express commenced its experimental halt at Kolaras station on Friday, September 1, 2026. Union Minister for Communications and Minister of State for the Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, officially inaugurated this long-awaited facility by flagging off the train.

This development is set to benefit thousands of passengers by providing direct rail connectivity, fulfilling a long-standing demand from the area. According to railway officials, the Ujjaini Express (Train No. 14309/14310), which runs between Laxmibai Nagar and Yoganagari Rishikesh, will now make a two-minute stop at Kolaras station.

Train No. 14310, traveling from Yoganagari Rishikesh to Laxmibai Nagar, will arrive at Kolaras at 20:43 and depart at 20:45 on September 1, 2026. Conversely, Train No. 14309, heading in the opposite direction, is scheduled to arrive at Kolaras station at 23:34 and depart at 23:36 on September 2, 2026.

Enhanced Passenger Facilities and Regional Development Expected

The introduction of this new facility is expected to be a major boon for residents of Kolaras and its neighboring rural areas. Passengers will no longer need to travel to larger railway stations for long-distance journeys.

Travelers can now directly board the Ujjaini Express from Kolaras station to Yoganagari Rishikesh, Laxmibai Nagar, and other major cities along this route. A formal ceremony marked this historic occasion at Kolaras station, with Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia as the chief guest. He was joined by several dignitaries, including Mahendra Ramsingh Yadav, MLA of Kolaras; Neha Yadav, President of Shivpuri District Panchayat; Priyanka Shivhare, Chairperson of Nagar Parishad Kolaras; and Jaswant Jatav, District President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, among others.

Representing the railway administration were Yogendra Baghel, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, and senior divisional commercial managers, along with other officials and staff. A large number of local citizens and rail passengers were also present, enthusiastically welcoming the new initiative and celebrating the festive atmosphere.
