Work to remove a section of Ujjain's Shahi Masjid is ongoing, following a violent protest that led to an FIR against 30 individuals.

Demolition Work Continues Peacefully
The process to remove a part of the Shahi Masjid located at Chhatri Chowk in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, continued on Wednesday. Representatives from the mosque committee are present on-site, overseeing the administration-supervised operation as construction work is being dismantled peacefully.
Protest Erupts, FIR Filed
The action turned violent on Monday when some individuals from the Dhaba Road and Sabzi Mandi areas protested, leading to a stone-pelting incident. In connection with this serious event, local police have registered an First Information Report (FIR) against a total of 30 people. So far, 20 suspects have been arrested in this case.
Legal Proceedings Underway
Early Wednesday morning, police from the Kharakuan police station transported nine arrested accused to Charak Hospital for medical examination under heavy security. Following the completion of their health checks, proceedings to present all these accused in court have commenced.
Investigation into Planned Disturbance
Police officials believe the stone-pelting incident on Monday was pre-planned and executed with the intention of inciting the crowd. The police also claimed that misleading messages were spread on social media with the aim of provoking the mob and disrupting the atmosphere in the area. A thorough technical investigation of these viral messages is being conducted to prevent similar incidents in the future and identify those involved.

The police are closely monitoring social media to curb such activities. Currently, the situation in Chhatri Chowk and its surrounding sensitive areas is completely under control. The administration has appealed to the general public not to pay attention to any rumours and to cooperate in maintaining peace. Police forces are continuously patrolling the area to ensure smooth law and order and prevent any untoward incidents. It is being ensured that further actions are carried out according to regulations and peacefully.
