Police Administration Takes Strict Stand

Following a review meeting on Wednesday, October 28, significant increases in complaints were noted at the Visharatganj and Shergarh police stations.
Officers Removed from Duty
As a direct consequence, the Station House Officers of both Visharatganj and Shergarh police stations have been immediately removed from their posts. These officials have now been transferred to the Reserve Police Line. This action aims to ensure accountability within the police's operational framework and to address the concerns of complainants with greater seriousness.
Spike in Complaints Highlighted
According to data presented during the review meeting, the number of complaints at Visharatganj police station rose from 43 in August to 63 in September, marking an approximately 46 percent increase. Similarly, Shergarh police station received 86 complaints in September, up from 66 in August, an increase of about 30 percent. Notably, the number of complaints at Shergarh was found to be 24 percent higher than the average over the past 16 months.
Objective of Administrative Directives
The review meeting, held at the police office from 10 AM to 3 PM, was attended by all Additional Superintendents of Police, Circle Officers, and Station House Officers. A detailed assessment of the applications received at police stations and their resolution status was conducted. The administration has made it clear that any laxity in public hearings will not be tolerated, and all officers have been instructed to ensure effective and timely resolution of complaints.
