Two Personal Security Officers Arrested in Connection with Zubeen Garg’s Death

The investigation into the sudden death of singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore last month has taken a new turn, with two of his personal security officers (PSOs) being arrested on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Assam Police confirmed that Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya, who were deputed by the government to ensure Garg’s safety, were suspended earlier on October 7 following multiple rounds of questioning. Authorities cited suspicious financial transactions totaling several lakhs of rupees conducted through the PSOs’ bank accounts as a basis for their arrest.

Investigation Expands

With the arrest of Bora and Baishya, a total of seven individuals have now been detained in connection with Garg’s death. Previously arrested include:

• Shyamkanu Mahanta, organiser of the North East India Festival

• Sandipan Garg, the singer’s cousin

• Siddhartha Sharma, Garg’s manager

• Shekharjyoti Goswami, musician

• Amritprava Mahanta, singer

Authorities are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding Garg’s death and the financial dealings linked to the case.
