Terror Attack in Kulgam Claims Lives of Two Migrant Workers

Two migrant workers from Chhattisgarh tragically succumbed to their injuries following a terror attack at a brick kiln in the Kailam (Keelam) area of Kulgam district, Jammu & Kashmir, on the late evening of Friday, July 31st. The incident has sent a wave of grief across the nation and once again raised serious questions about the safety of non-local workers in the valley.

According to information received, terrorists indiscriminately opened fire on labourers working at a brick kiln in Kailam around 8:30 PM on Friday night. In this attack, 24-year-old Deepak Ratre and 28-year-old Bhupinder were critically injured. Deepak Ratre either died on the spot or before reaching the hospital, while Bhupinder was admitted to SKIMS hospital in Srinagar. Despite the tireless efforts of doctors, Bhupinder also passed away during treatment.

Security Forces Launch Massive Search Operation

Immediately following the attack, Jammu & Kashmir Police, the Army, and central security forces took swift action, cordoning off the entire area and launching a large-scale search operation. Security agencies are continuously conducting search operations in the surrounding forests and suspected locations in pursuit of the attackers.

Officials have stated that every possible effort is being made to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Security arrangements in the entire region have been significantly tightened, and a high state of alert is being maintained.

Administrative Response and Condolences

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, strongly condemned this barbaric terror attack. He stated that terrorists attacking innocent civilians would not be spared under any circumstances. He has issued clear directives to security agencies to take prompt action against the culprits.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of the two workers. Conveying his condolences to the bereaved families, he affirmed that the state government stands firmly with the affected families and will provide them with all possible assistance.

This incident has once again become a cause for concern regarding the safety of migrant workers employed in Jammu & Kashmir. Security agencies are conducting an intensive investigation to identify the terrorists and their network behind the attack. Central and state governments are continuously monitoring the situation, while search operations to track down the terrorists are ongoing.
