Brothers Arrested for Inciting Suicide
Damoh, October 8, 2026 – In the Jabera police station area of Damoh district, police have arrested two real brothers on serious charges of abetting suicide. This action was taken in connection with the case of Sonu Yadav, a resident of village Bhajiya, who committed suicide by hanging himself on September 20, 2026.
Investigation Launched Based on Complaint
The police initiated an investigation based on a complaint filed by the deceased's father, Ganpat Yadav. Preliminary police inquiries and witness statements revealed that two brothers, identified as Mausam Jhariya and Monu Jhariya, had incited the deceased, Sonu Yadav, to commit suicide. Both accused had been absconding since the incident.
Special Team Formed for Arrests
Considering the gravity of the case, Superintendent of Police Anand Kaladagi and Additional Superintendent of Police Sujit Singh Bhadoria ordered the immediate arrest of the accused. In compliance with these directives, a special team was formed to apprehend the culprits, tasked with taking action under the guidance of the Tendukheda SDOPI.
Accused Apprehended
The special team acted swiftly, conducting raids and successfully apprehending both absconding accused: Mausam Jhariya, aged 25, and Monu Jhariya, aged 22 (both sons of Santosh Jhariya). Police have registered a case against both accused under sections 108 and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code.
Legal Proceedings Underway
The arrested accused have been presented before the Honorable Court of Damoh. The investigation in this commendable operation was led by Jabera Station House Officer, Sub-Inspector Vikas Singh Chauhan, with significant contributions from Head Constables Randhir Singh, Virendra Wadekar, Ramgopal, and Constable Shailendra Singh. The police are continuing their thorough investigation into the matter.
