Two Arrested in Mirzapur for Rape and POCSO Act Violations
Mirzapur | September 4, 2026 In two separate incidents within Mirzapur district, police have arrested two individuals accused of abducting and raping minors. Cases have been registered against the accused under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Acting on the directives of Superintendent of Police Mirzapur, Aparna Rajat Kaushik, a swift response was initiated following these serious allegations. The action underscores the commitment to addressing crimes against children with utmost gravity.
Accused Arrested in Mandhian Police Station Case
The Mandhian police, on Friday, September 4, 2026, arrested Satyadev, son of the late Kolai Ram, a resident of Gahira. He is accused of abducting and raping a minor daughter. The case was initially registered on July 19, 2026.
A case was registered at the Mandhian police station under sections 137(2), 352, and 351(3) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). Under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, and under the leadership of the Superintendent of Police Operations and Circle Officer Operations, the Station House Officer of Mandhian was instructed to apprehend the accused.
Based on credible informant information, Sub-Inspector Jay Prakash Yadav and his team successfully arrested accused Satyadev. He has been presented before the court facing action under sections 137(2), 352, 351(3), 65(1), and 87 of the BNS, and sections 5J(ii)/6 of the POCSO Act.
Another Arrest in Minor Rape Case by Padri Police
In a related development, the Padri police also made an arrest on September 4, 2026. The accused, Karan, son of Mahesh, a resident of village Chhotibari, Police Station Kotwali Dehat, was apprehended. This case was registered on August 31, 2026, after a complaint was filed alleging the abduction of a minor daughter.
A case was registered at the Padri police station under section 137(2) of the BNS, and an investigation commenced. Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik directed the Station House Officer of Padri, under the leadership of the Additional Superintendent of Police (City) and Circle Officer (Sadar), to arrest the accused.
Acting on informant information, Sub-Inspector Aniruddh Singh and his team arrested accused Karan. Action has been taken against the accused under sections 137(2), 65(1), and 87 of the BNS, and sections ¾(2) of the POCSO Act, after which he was sent to court.
These arrests by the police have increased awareness regarding child crimes in the region and sent a strong message against offenders. The police are continuing further investigation and legal proceedings in both cases.
