Tvesha Sharma Suicide Case: CBI Files Chargesheet Against Husband and Mother-in-law
CBI files a nearly 636-page chargesheet against the husband and mother-in-law of model and actress Tvesha Sharma in a suspected suicide case.

CBI Files Chargesheet in Tvesha Sharma Suspected Suicide Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken a significant step in the suspected death of model and actress Tvesha Sharma by filing an extensive 636-page chargesheet in a Bhopal court. The charges are filed against her husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, who is a retired district judge.
The investigation agency has pressed serious charges, including cruelty and abetment of suicide, against both accused under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The incident came to light on May 12, 2026, when the 33-year-old Sharma was found dead at her in-laws' residence in Katara Hills, Bhopal. Following her death, the case gained momentum amid various serious allegations from family and related parties.
Allegations of Mental Torture and Pressure
According to the CBI's chargesheet, initial investigations and collected evidence suggest that Tvesha Sharma endured prolonged and severe mental torture during her married life. The agency claims that her husband and mother-in-law consistently cast doubts on her character and taunted her about her modeling and acting career, which allegedly had a profound impact on her mental state.
The investigation also revealed that Sharma was under continuous pressure regarding her abortion and financial investments. The CBI believes that the relentless mental pressure and harassment escalated her life circumstances to a point where she saw no alternative but to commit suicide. Based on this, the agency has initiated proceedings against the accused under the Indian Justice Code.
Second Postmortem Confirms Suicide
To ascertain the cause of Tvesha Sharma's death, a second postmortem was ordered in the case. This examination was conducted by a medical board from AIIMS, Delhi. The report identified hanging as the cause of death, consistent with an act of suicide. The CBI has incorporated the findings of this postmortem report, along with other available evidence, statements, and medical reports, into its investigation.
The investigation agency conducted a detailed examination of all aspects, including circumstantial evidence, witness statements, and postmortem reports. Following this thorough investigation, the CBI has submitted its detailed charge sheet to the court. With the filing of the chargesheet, the investigative phase by the agency is largely complete.
Judicial Process and Further Proceedings
The CBI argues that the circumstances of continuous mental torment can have extremely serious and negative effects on an individual's mental health and decision-making capacity. On this principle, the agency has framed charges against the husband and mother-in-law under the sections of the Indian Justice Code related to abetment of suicide and cruelty.
The filing of the chargesheet marks a significant milestone in this case, but the charges levied are still subject to judicial scrutiny. During the court hearings, both the prosecution and the defense will present their respective evidence and arguments. Based on these, the court will arrive at its conclusion regarding the truth of the matter and decide on further proceedings.
Tvesha Sharma's untimely and mysterious death sent shockwaves through her family, friends, and the entertainment industry. Now, following the CBI's chargesheet, all eyes are on the judicial process of this case to see where justice will lead.
