Organizers Urge Administration for Comprehensive Arrangements for Durga Puja and Dussehra

The Central Shri Durga Puja Mahasamiti in Tulsi Pur, Balrampur district, has appealed to the local administration for thorough arrangements to ensure the smooth and harmonious celebration of the upcoming Shardiya Navratri and Dussehra festival. A delegation, led by Mahasamiti President Dilip Kumar Gupta, submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate on Monday, October 5, 2026, requesting priority fulfillment of various festival-related demands.

A significant demand raised by the Mahasamiti is the reconsideration of the ban on DJs (Disc Jockeys). The committee argues that DJs should be permitted in religious events, adhering to the standards set by the Supreme Court. This plea is particularly relevant for individuals involved in organizing music and cultural programs during the festival, who often face ambiguity regarding sound regulations.

Emphasis on Security, Sanitation, and Power Supply

The memorandum also highlights several other critical points focused on the convenience and safety of the general public during the festival. The committee has urged the Sub-Divisional Magistrate to ensure the town's roads are free of potholes before the Vijayadashami festival, to prevent any inconvenience to processions and devotees. Additionally, a request has been made to temporarily halt all construction activities during the sacred Navratri occasion to maintain a peaceful atmosphere.

An uninterrupted power supply for the puja pandals is another crucial part of the memorandum. The Mahasamiti has suggested that the administration refrain from power cuts and install high-mast lights at all puja pandals to ensure adequate lighting. Special attention has also been requested for the regular cleaning of drains and proper waste disposal to maintain sanitation.

The committee has appealed to implement the rules prohibiting the sale of meat and fish around religious sites to prevent hurting religious sentiments. Dozens of officials, including Sanjay Agarwal, Anil Kasadhan, Ghanshyam Gupta, Ranjay Kamala, Sanjay Prajapati, Deepu, Raj Agrihari, Saurabh, Rajat, Shakti Verma, Amar Singh, Ravi Pandey, Abhishek Tripathi, Isht Dev, Ramdayal Soni, Mukesh Kumar, Manoj, and Rajesh Kasadhan, were present, underscoring the importance of the memorandum.

The Mahasamiti has urged the administration to complete all necessary arrangements before Navratri commences, allowing devotees to celebrate the festival without any trouble and ensuring the event concludes in a harmonious environment.
