Intensified Scrutiny on Passenger Buses in Guna
Following stern directives from Guna Collector Kishor Kumar Kanyal, the Transport Department has launched a special campaign prioritizing passenger safety. During this initiative, random checks were conducted on passenger buses operating within the district.
Enforcement Action and Fines Levied
The campaign, guided by Additional Transport Officer Vikram Rathore, saw a total of fifteen passenger buses stopped and thoroughly inspected for permits, insurance documents, and the availability of fire extinguishers. Several buses were found to have significant irregularities.
- Five buses were fined a total of ₹4,500 for various violations.
- One bus was seized for operating without a valid permit and insurance, posing a major risk to passenger safety. A hefty fine of approximately ₹67,000 is proposed for this bus.
Commitment to Passenger Safety Continues
The objective of these actions is to ensure all passenger vehicles adhere to regulations, providing passengers with secure journeys. Transport officials Sushil Bhargav and Vivek Dubey, along with Head Constable K.K. Dwivedi, Constable Hemant Raghuwanshi, Dhruv Kumar Meena, and Soldier Istkar Ahmed, played active roles in this significant operation.
The department has clarified that such surprise inspection campaigns will continue uninterrupted in the future to safeguard passenger interests. This initiative is a crucial step towards making the district's public transport system safer and more organized. Local passengers have welcomed the administration's action and appreciated the focus on safety standards. Strict punitive action will be ensured against operators violating the rules.
