Grand Yajna Concludes at Karunadham with Mahalakshmi Aarti

The Cliff News | Bhopal | July 25, 2026 At Karunadham Ashram in Nehru Nagar, Bhopal, the three-day Sarvabhaum Digvijay Mahayajna, organized to celebrate the establishment of the Shri Mahalakshmi Devalaya, concluded today with Purnahuti and a grand divine Aarti of Goddess Mahalakshmi.

Presided over by Peethadheeshwar Gurudev Shri Sudesh Ji Shandilya Maharaj, the Mahayajna involved offerings of ghee accompanied by 5108 Vedic mantras. The ritual commenced on July 23rd.

Cultural Programs and Ashwamedha Yajna

The first two days of the event featured evening cultural programs, with captivating music and instrumental performances that created a vibrant atmosphere. The third and final day saw the conclusion of offerings with Ashwamedha mantras, followed by a grand procession of a horse.

The Yajman (chief patron) was honored and seated on a throne, receiving the Dharma Dand. This marked a significant moment in the ceremony, highlighting the patron's role in the sacred ritual.

Significance of Mahayajna in Sanatan Tradition

Shri Sudesh Ji Shandilya Maharaj conducted the three-day Mahayajna in accordance with Sanatan traditions. He explained that various rituals have been performed since ancient times by sages to invoke universal well-being, prosperity, and peace for India's Sanatan Vedic thought stream across the globe.

The primary aim was the intellectual conquest of Indian intellect worldwide. Examples of such significant rituals include Darsh Purnamasehti, Rajasuya Yaga, Vajpeya Yaga, Ashwamedha Yaga, and Sarva Samajik Samvad Yaga. Through these sacrifices, Sanatan wisdom has spread its welfare-oriented objectives globally.

Stages of the Yajna

The first day of the Yajna included Panchang Prayog, Jal Yatra, Ashwa Pujan, Mandap Pravesh, and the establishment of various mandalas such as Chatshashti Yogini Mandal, Bhadra Mandal, Graha Mandal, and Rudra Mandal, with fire being kindled through Aranimanthana.

The second day involved Nitya Pujan, Brahmanavaran, Agni Sthapana in the Dakshina Agni, and offerings of ghee with mantras from the Shukla Yajurveda, including those related to Vajpeya, Rajasuya, Sautramani, and Rudra Sukta, as well as chapters 28.21 and 23. On this day, musical performances, including Turiya Sangeet and Sitar playing, were also held under the Mandap as part of the Rajasuya Yaga.

The final day saw Nitya Pujan, Brahman Pujan, and offerings with Ashwamedha mantras, followed by the horse procession. The Yajman's doorway was worshipped and they were honored. Dance performances and auspicious music, including Sitar renditions, enlivened the procession from the entrance to the Mandap.

Following this, the Yajman was presented with the Dharma Dand, after which the ritual concluded with Abhishek, Purnahuti, and a Mahapuja, bringing the grand ceremony to a fulfilling close.
