In a significant development in the Umri police station area of Bhind district, the police have successfully apprehended three named accused who were on the run in a serious attempted murder case. The authorities have recovered a 315 bore licensed gun and a spear, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, from the possession of the arrested individuals.
Investigation and Arrest Following Complaint
This action underscores the police's active and prompt response, fostering an environment of fear among criminals. The arrests followed a complaint filed on October 3rd by the complainant, Indrajeet Singh alias Ramu, a resident of Kharika, leading to the registration of crime number 234/2026. A case was registered against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, and they had been evading police since.
Details of the Incident and Police Response
Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused had an altercation with the complainant over an unspecified matter, leading to an attempt on his life. The complainant narrowly escaped the attack. Given the gravity of the incident, Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma had directed special attention to the investigation.
Formation of Special Team and Informant Tip-off
In light of the seriousness of the case, a special team was constituted under the direction of Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Verma and Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Patel, with guidance from SDOOP Satish Singh. The team launched an intensive search for the absconding accused and activated its informant network.
Arrest Based on Crucial Information
On October 4th, police received precise information from an informant that the three accused were present at Gram Kharika Mod and were planning to escape to another location. This information was critical in paving the way for their capture. Upon receiving the tip, police forces immediately reached the location and cordoned off the area.
Capture and Confession of Accused
While the unaware accused attempted to flee from the police cordon, they were apprehended by the authorities. During interrogation following their capture, they admitted their involvement in the incident. The identities of the accused have been kept confidential, but it is confirmed that they attempted to attack the complainant.
Recovery of Weapons and Judicial Custody
After interrogation, the accused were formally arrested. Based on their disclosures, the police seized a 315 bore licensed gun and a spear used in the incident. This recovery confirms that the accused arrived with weapons intending to carry out a deadly attack on the complainant.
Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigation
As per legal procedure, one accused was presented in the Bhind court on October 5th, and the remaining two accused were presented today, October 6th, after which they were remanded to judicial custody. The police are currently engaged in further legal proceedings and interrogations to ascertain if any other individuals are involved or if the accused have a prior criminal history.
