During the exchange of fire, one accused was injured, while his two accomplices were apprehended at the scene. The incident transpired as Poonam, a resident of Sanjay Nagar, was traveling to Hari Mandir in Model Town with her daughter. At that moment, assailants on a motorcycle snatched her earrings.

Recovery and Criminal History
The police recovered two looted earrings, two illegal pistols, ammunition, and the number-plate-less Pulsar motorcycle used in the crime from the arrested accused. Legal proceedings have been initiated against all of them.
Preliminary interrogations suggest that all three apprehended individuals have prior involvement in criminal activities, with suspicions of previous cases of theft and robbery. The police are now questioning them about other incidents to uncover any unresolved cases.
The Superintendent of Police (City) stated that detailed interrogations are underway to determine if their motive was solely to loot the earrings or if it was part of a larger plan. The police team had been actively working based on clues from the crime scene and information from informants.
