Terrorists Target Security Forces in Anantnag

Terrorists once again targeted security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday afternoon. Around 12:30 PM, suspected terrorists suddenly opened fire on a police party on duty near Lal Chowk.

Head Constable Succumbs to Injuries

A police head constable was critically injured in this cowardly attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following the incident, a high alert has been declared across the entire area.

According to eyewitnesses, activities were proceeding normally in the Lal Chowk area when terrorists began indiscriminate firing on the police team. The attackers managed to flee the scene after carrying out the attack.

Extensive Search Operation Launched

Upon receiving information about the incident, additional police forces, army, and central security force teams immediately reached the spot and cordoned off the entire area. Security agencies have launched a large-scale search operation in Lal Chowk and surrounding sensitive areas to track down the terrorists.

Security has been heightened at all entry and exit points of the area. Vehicles are being thoroughly searched, and the identification of local residents is also being verified. Officials stated that a joint operation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the attackers.
