Major Operation Against Drug Trafficking in Damoh
Acting on precise informant tip-offs, the Tejgarh Police Station in the Damoh district has successfully carried out a significant operation against drug smuggling. The police confiscated 4 kilograms and 140 grams of cannabis, estimated to be worth approximately one lakh rupees in the market, and arrested two individuals in connection with the crime.
Arrests and Seizures
In compliance with strict directives from Superintendent of Police Anand Kaladagi, and under the guidance of the Additional Superintendent of Police and SDOP Tendukheda, the operation was executed. The arrested accused have been identified as Bhupat, son of Giran Singh Lodhi, a resident of Patehriya village, and Sundar alias Bambai, son of Ranmat Singh Jogi, a resident of Tejgarh. This action marks a decisive blow against the illegal narcotics trade in the region.
Motorcycle Used in Smuggling Confiscated
The police not only recovered a substantial quantity of cannabis from the possession of the accused but also seized a motorcycle that was being used in the smuggling operation. The confiscated motorcycle bears the registration number UP 77 X 4977. These arrests and seizures serve as a stern warning to those involved in the illicit drug trade within the district.
Police Team's Crucial Role
The police team instrumental in this successful operation included Sub-Inspector Arvind Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Govind Singh Thakur, Head Constables Sachin, Umesh, and Manoj, and Constables Rajan, Rajesh, Rajababu, Harisingh, Omprakash Jamre, Pramod, and Shailesh. Additionally, Rakesh Athya and Mayank Dubey from the Cyber Cell made significant contributions to the operation.

The police department has reiterated its commitment to continuing such vigilant and effective actions in the future to completely curb the sale of narcotics in the district. Legal proceedings under relevant sections of the law have been initiated against the arrested accused.
