A teenage girl, identified as Jaanvi Tomar, died during treatment at a private clinic located in Housing Colony, Bhind city. Following the incident, anger erupted among the girl's family and local residents. In response, the accused doctor, Dr. Vineet Gupta, fled the clinic, abandoning the premises. The administration took swift action, sealing the clinic due to the gravity of the situation.

Public Outcry and Accusations Against Private Clinics

Local sources reported that as news of the teenager's death spread, public anger surged throughout the city. A crowd gathered at the scene, raising slogans against the health department and allegedly negligent doctors. Citizens accused private clinics in the city of engaging in exploitative practices, with responsible officials remaining silent.

Administration Arrives, Clinic Sealed

Upon receiving information about the incident, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Akhilesh Sharma and Circle Officer (CSO) Niranjan Singh Rajput, accompanied by a heavy police force, arrived at the location. The officials attempted to pacify the agitated crowd. Subsequently, with the presence of the health department team, the clinic was sealed. The administration has ordered a judicial and departmental inquiry into the matter.

Allegations of Neglecting Government Duty for Private Practice

Local residents and the deceased's family also alleged that Dr. Vineet Gupta, who is posted at the district hospital, spends more time at his private clinic in Housing Colony than at the government hospital. It is alleged that he refers patients from the government hospital to his private clinic and charges exorbitant fees, a practice that has become his modus operandi. Furthermore, claims were made of an open racket involving commissions from pathology labs for conducting tests.

Sources indicate that Dr. Vineet Gupta has a past history of controversies. He has previously faced accusations of medical negligence, mistreatment of patients, and irregularities in performing his government duties. Despite repeated complaints, the lack of stringent action had emboldened him.

Considering the sensitivity of the case, SDM Bhind Akhilesh Sharma stated, "Given the sensitivity of the matter, the clinic has been sealed with immediate effect. A thorough investigation into alleged medical negligence and the clinic's legality is underway. Strict legal and administrative action will be taken if anyone is found guilty."
