Teachers Voice Concerns Over Pay and Benefits
In Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, the Specific BTC Teachers Welfare Association met with Finance and Accounts Officer Mr. Vivek Pandey to demand the prompt resolution of teachers' key issues. These include the long-pending seniority pay scales and regular salary payments on the first of each month.
A delegation, led by the association's State General Secretary and Treasurer Dilip Chauhan, presented their case. They stressed the urgent need for the determination and disbursement of arrears for eligible teachers whose seniority pay scales are overdue. Dilip Chauhan highlighted the difficulties faced by teachers in meeting loan installments, leading to financial penalties and mental distress.
Call for Prioritization and Effective Systems
District President Dharmendra Kumar Shukla emphasized that significant pending matters like seniority pay scales should be resolved on a priority basis. He also called for an effective system to prevent teachers from making repeated visits to the office for their statutory dues.
The organization's District General Secretary, Tularam Giri, extended the demand for timely payment of honorariums to cooks, Shiksha Mitras, and instructors, who work on meager stipends. He also urged for regular payments of conversion costs under the Midday Meal Scheme.
Assurances Given for Resolution
The delegation vigorously demanded the swift disbursement of pending arrears and other dues. Finance and Accounts Officer Mr. Vivek Pandey listened attentively to the issues raised and assured the delegation of necessary action and prompt resolution.
Several other officials and teachers were present at the meeting, including organization Vice Presidents Dharmendra Kumar Gupta, Vinod Chauhan, Raghavendra Pratap Singh, Ramanuj Verma, and Shivakant Tripathi.
