Police in Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, have claimed to have solved the sensational murder of a teacher, Shivani, who was killed in a rented house. The incident, which occurred in the Nasirpeer locality under Kotwali Nagar police station, has led to the arrest of the deceased's husband, assistant teacher Dilip Kumar Yadav, who is the main accused.

Husband Admits to Killing Wife

According to police, the accused husband confessed to killing his wife during interrogation. The incident came to light on August 8, 2026, after which the deceased's family filed a formal complaint against the husband and his two brothers. Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik stated that the complaint was lodged at Kotwali Nagar police station on August 9, following the incident on August 8.

Investigation and Confession

Given the gravity of the case, police teams were immediately formed for investigation. During the initial inquiry, the deceased's husband, Dilip Yadav, was taken into custody and questioned. He confessed to the murder during this period. Police said the accused revealed that between approximately 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM on August 8, he struck his wife on the head with a pressure cooker handle.

Subsequently, he allegedly held his wife's neck and submerged her in an inflatable tub. Police allege that after committing the murder, Dilip Yadav attempted to portray the incident as an accident. He tried to create an environment suggesting that his wife's death or unconsciousness was due to a mishap. According to police, after carrying out the deed, the accused roamed outside the house for about 20 minutes before returning.

Brothers Alerted and Victim Hospitalized

Upon his return, Dilip Yadav reportedly called his brothers to inform them that his wife had fainted due to an accident and needed immediate hospitalization. Following this information, his brothers arrived at the scene and took Shivani to the hospital. Meanwhile, the police were alerted, and the investigation commenced.

Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik stated that the investigation was conducted based on scientific and forensic evidence.
