A new unprecedented chapter in India's cultural diplomacy history has been written with the organization of the 'Surya Path Tiranga Global Relay' in commemoration of the nation's 80th Independence Day. This groundbreaking event transcended the boundaries of time and geographical distances, uniting 54 countries.
Through this initiative, India's growing global influence and its message of peace, development, and integrity were disseminated worldwide. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the 'Surya Path Tiranga Global Relay' was a unique endeavor organized beyond India's borders.
A Journey Across Time Zones
From Fiji to the United States, the Indian national flag completed its journey across these 54 countries, spanning various time zones, from one sunrise to the next. The aim of this relay was to unite the Indian diaspora and friends of India across the globe, deepening their connection to the nation.
Showcasing India's Cultural Standing on the Global Stage
A primary objective of this unique campaign was to strengthen India's cultural standing on the global stage and foster mutual cooperation. Orchestrated under the joint patronage of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, this journey was woven into the fabric of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.
With the first rays of the sun, the relay commenced from Suva, the capital of Fiji, located in the Pacific Ocean. Subsequently, in rhythm with the passage of time, the journey progressed through New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, Gulf countries, and Europe.
Relay Concludes in San Francisco
During this uninterrupted journey of approximately 19 hours, 54 prominent diplomatic missions worldwide sequentially hoisted the flag. The historic relay culminated at the Consulate General of India in San Francisco, located on the West Coast of the United States.

The resonance of this Tiranga relay signals India's far-reaching global influence in the future. This journey, which connected countries across various continents, has proven that India's cultural standing today extends beyond borders, establishing it as a strong voice of the 'Global South'.
