During the inspection, she reviewed several shops and instructed them to submit detailed information regarding the purchase and sale of medicines within three days. Failure to comply could result in action as per regulations.
This inspection campaign was carried out in compliance with directives from the Controller, Food and Drug Administration, Bhopal, as well as Bhind Collector Kirodi Lal Meena and the Chief Medical and Health Officer. Dr. Garud inspected various establishments, including Jay Medical & Surgicals, Prakash Medical Store, Suraj Shri Medical Store, Virag Medicos, Jay Gurudev Medical Store, and Ashok Medical Store. The primary objective of this campaign is to ensure that quality and safe medicines are available to the general public.
Medicine Samples Sent for Testing

Subsequent actions will be decided based on the laboratory's report, which will include an assessment of the medicines' quality and standards. Sampling is a crucial step to ensure that only medicines meeting prescribed quality parameters are available in the market.
Strict Instructions Issued to Shop Owners
During the inspection, shop owners were issued several guidelines. These include:
- Proper display of licenses.
- Presence of a qualified pharmacist at the shops.
- Maintenance of shop cleanliness.
- Appropriate arrangements for the disposal of expired medicines.
- Maintenance of stock registers.
- Proper storage of medicines that require refrigeration.
- Prohibition of selling Schedule H drugs without a registered physician's prescription.
- Regular maintenance of purchase and sale records as per regulations.
It will be ensured that all medicines are sold only under prescribed rules. Specifically, the sale of Schedule H drugs without a prescription is being closely monitored, as these medications can cause serious side effects if used without proper medical supervision.

The Drug Inspector clarified that any negligence in the quality of medicines and their distribution will not be tolerated. She urged shopkeepers to adhere to all rules and regulations to ensure that consumers receive safe and effective treatment. Emphasis was also placed on the proper disposal of expired medicines to eliminate the possibility of such drugs re-entering the market.
