Industrial Disaster Management Mock Drill Held in Farrukhabad

A two-day mock exercise was successfully organized in Farrukhabad by the 8th Battalion NDRF Ghaziabad and the District Disaster Management Authority to bolster preparedness for industrial emergencies. The exercise, held on October 12 and 13, 2026, aimed to ensure swift and effective relief operations through coordination among various departments during any disaster.

Orientation and Tabletop Exercise for Disaster Management

The first phase on October 12 featured an orientation conference and tabletop exercise at the Collectorate Auditorium in Fatehgarh. Senior officials from various disaster management departments, chaired by the District Magistrate, participated in this crucial meeting. During the session, the Chief Plant Manager of the Indane Bottling Plant presented a detailed overview of the Incident Response System (IRS), outlining departmental responsibilities and the effective utilization of resources in emergencies. The Indane Bottling Plant in Gasringpur was subsequently identified for the next day's mock drill.

Mock Drill Simulates Gas Leak and Fire Incident

On October 13, a realistic disaster scenario was simulated at the Indane Bottling Plant in Gasringpur at 11 AM. A comprehensive mock drill was conducted based on a hypothetical gas leak leading to a fire. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, local district administration, fire department, health services, and traffic management agencies actively participated. The drill demonstrated quick response, effective rescue operations, and seamless coordination among agencies to ensure maximum relief in minimal time during a real emergency.

Minimizing Loss of Life and Property is Key Objective

Key stakeholders present at the joint exercise included NDRF Deputy Commandant Dr. Kuber Sharma, Inspector Bhim Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar, Assistant Transport Officer, and Chief Fire Officer. The central objective of this entire endeavor is to minimize the loss of life and property in the event of any industrial accident in the future. Officials believe that such regular and realistic exercises help strengthen emergency response systems.

The mock drill, a successful joint effort by the NDRF and the district administration, significantly contributed to enhancing safety measures in industrial establishments.
