Security Tight for CM Yogi's Flood Relief Program in Farrukhabad

Farrukhabad | September 3, 2026 - Security was exceptionally tight on Thursday for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's participation in a flood relief program at Police Line Fatehgarh in Farrukhabad. The Chief Minister arrived at the venue by helicopter around 11:55 AM.

In anticipation of his arrival, large numbers of people began converging from various parts of the district since morning, necessitating the erection of barriers at multiple locations in Fatehgarh to control traffic. During security checks before entry to the Chief Minister's rally, several individuals wearing black clothing were stopped at the gate of the Police Line.

Some individuals removed their black attire on the spot and were granted entry, while others returned without attending the rally, expressing disappointment over the restriction. The ban caused frustration for some attendees.

Unprecedented Security and Traffic Management

Unprecedented security arrangements were in place for the Chief Minister's visit. Surveillance was conducted using drone cameras, and police personnel were deployed extensively throughout the area. Vehicles carrying attendees from all four assembly constituencies, brought in by buses, were directed to park at the Bramhadutt Stadium in Fatehgarh.

From the stadium, both men and women walked to the program venue at the Police Line. Private two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles were stopped at barriers placed some distance from the Police Line, near the guest house. Additional parking arrangements were made at other locations.

Government vehicles, Bharatiya Janata Party officials, and elected representatives were granted special permission to proceed directly to the venue through a secondary gate of the Police Line. Memoranda and Detained Individuals

Some individuals arrived to submit memoranda to the Chief Minister, demanding the construction of embankments in areas affected by erosion and flooding in the Ganga and Ramganga rivers. They sought permanent solutions and relief for the affected populations.

Police also prevented individuals carrying letters related to other demands from entering the rally venue. Some of these individuals were taken into police custody. There were also reports of individuals being placed under house arrest in the city, including prominent figures like youth business council president Ankur Srivastava and Kisan Union Mahashakti district president Manoj Yadav. These reports raised questions about the local administration's sensitivity.

Crowd Dissipation Due to Heat and Humidity

Due to overcrowding at the venue, many individuals began returning before the Chief Minister's arrival, suffering from the intense heat and humidity. The strong sun and muggy weather created difficulties for attendees. Despite repeated efforts by police to control the crowd by erecting barriers at the Police Line gate, the number of people continued to swell.

A significant number of people also arrived from the Amritpur assembly constituency. Enthusiasm to hear the Chief Minister's speech and receive flood relief materials was evident, but the heat somewhat diminished this excitement.

Oversight from Elevated Positions and District Administration's Role

Numerous police personnel were deployed in and around the Police Line to ensure the Chief Minister's safety. Officers positioned at elevated spots continuously monitored the surrounding area with binoculars, ensuring that any untoward incident was prevented.

District administration officials closely observed security arrangements and traffic management throughout the event. They collaborated with police forces to manage the crowd and maintain peace.

Post-Event Traffic Congestion and Local Inconveniences

Immediately after the Chief Minister's program concluded and he departed, a traffic jam-like situation occurred temporarily due to the simultaneous exit of people from the rally site. This is a common issue after large events when a crowd disperses at once.

There were minor scuffles between two-wheeler drivers living near the BSA office and Police Line and the police regarding the removal of barriers. Local residents reported significant difficulties reaching their homes and workplaces by vehicle due to the widespread placement of barriers.

Municipal sanitation workers and some electricity department employees also faced hardships as their vehicles were stopped at barriers. Overall, the administration implemented robust security and crowd control measures for the Chief Minister's program, but the strict entry restrictions and extensive traffic control measures led to considerable inconvenience for the general public.
