In response to the persistent problems faced by pedestrians and vehicle drivers due to stray cattle roaming the streets and public places, the Devri Municipal Council has taken a significant step. Following the directives of Chief Municipal Officer Manohar Vinjhwari, a team of municipal employees conducted a special campaign, apprehending stray animals from the town's main routes and various wards. These animals were then safely transported to the Marghat Maheshwar Cowshed.

Sanitation In-charge Manu Jarolia stated that the congregation of stray cattle in the town's prominent markets and public spaces was not only disrupting traffic but also posing a risk of accidents. This situation was addressed with seriousness, leading to the action taken under the Chief Municipal Officer's instructions. The objective of capturing and safely relocating the animals to the cowshed is to ensure smooth traffic flow and safeguard the general public.

Addressing the Stray Cattle Menace

This campaign marks a crucial initiative by the Devri Municipal Council to tackle the escalating problem of stray cattle within the town. Stray animals, particularly cattle, are frequently observed in herds on the roads, disrupting daily life. Besides obstructing vehicular movement, their presence also poses a threat to pedestrians and young children.

The risk of accidents, including animals colliding with vehicles or suddenly crossing the road, has been a continuous concern. The municipal team actively patrolled the entire town, focusing on the main market areas and densely populated wards, where a higher concentration of stray animals was noted. The apprehended animals were promptly taken to the Marghat Maheshwar Cowshed in Kaushal Kishore Ward, where their proper care will be ensured. The operation was conducted in a safe and humane manner to prevent any harm to the animals.

Appeal to Animal Owners and Future Strategy

The municipal administration has appealed to animal owners to refrain from letting their livestock roam freely and to keep them in secure enclosures. Animals found wandering openly not only impede traffic but also increase the risk of accidents for both the animals and the public.

In this regard, Chief Municipal Officer Manohar Vinjhwari has instructed the concerned employees to conduct regular patrols of the town and to promptly capture and transport stray animals to the cowshed. This action is a step towards a long-term solution for the stray cattle problem. The municipality aims to organize the town's traffic system and create a safer environment for its citizens.
