Community Cleansing Drive Marks Gandhi Jayanti in Kishunganj

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, a large-scale cleanliness program was organized in Kishunganj Gram Panchayat of Damoh district as part of the 'Service Pledge Campaign'.

The Chief Guest, State Minister (Independent Charge) Lakhan Patel, actively participated in 'shramdaan' (voluntary labor) alongside villagers. He contributed to the cleaning of the school premises and pond ghats, urging the assembled public to make cleanliness an integral part of their daily routine.

“Only by keeping our surroundings clean can positive change be brought about in society,” Minister Patel stated, highlighting the crucial role of every citizen in building a 'Swachh Bharat'.

During the event, Sangeeta Shridhar also shared her insights, emphasizing the importance of proper waste disposal and tree plantation.

Development Accelerated Through Public Participation

State Minister Lakhan Patel particularly underscored the successful model of public participation in development works in Kishunganj. He explained that when villagers contribute their labor and resources, it becomes easier for the administration to complete development projects smoothly.

He noted that as a result of this mutual coordination and public support, approximately 75 to 80 roads have been successfully constructed in the area this year. He commended the Sarpanches and villagers who have given new direction to development in the region through mutual dialogue and active participation.

Pledge for Cleanliness and Tree Plantation

At the conclusion of the program, all attendees took a collective pledge to maintain the village's cleanliness and beauty. The State Minister administered the oath of cleanliness to all citizens and also planted saplings, taking a step towards environmental conservation.

Mahesh Patel appealed to the villagers to maintain similar participation to ensure the continuity of the campaign. The enthusiastic involvement of local representatives and a large number of villagers made this cleanliness campaign a success.

On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the State Minister also extended his best wishes to the people of the state.
