State-Level 'Lakshya Manthan' Yoga Competition: First Phase Successfully Concludes in Indore

The first qualifying phase of the state-level 'Lakshya Manthan' Yoga competition, organized under the patronage and guidance of the Madhya Pradesh Government's Yoga Commission, concluded successfully on August 30th at St. Arnold Higher Secondary School in Indore. The primary objective of this competition is the widespread promotion of yoga, health enrichment, and social consciousness.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of prominent figures from administrative, educational, and sports sectors. Key dignitaries included District Education Officer (DEO) Indore Shaurya Malhotra, SDM (Hatod) Rajesh Singh, Principal of St. Arnold School Father Pius, Regional Sports Officer (RSO) Indore Hemant Verma, and Prashant Mahant. The guests lit the ceremonial lamp to commence the event and encouraged participants, emphasizing the importance of integrating yoga into daily life.

Competition Organization and Objectives

Dr. Pramod Nandwal, President of the Lakshya Environment and Water Solution Welfare Society, stated that the organization is continuously striving for environmental and water conservation, alongside fostering a healthy and stress-free lifestyle. To fulfill this aim, the competition is being held in three phases to provide a strong platform for youth.

Following the successful conclusion of the first phase, the second qualifying round will take place on September 6th at the same venue. The top selected participants from both rounds will showcase their skills in the grand final round on September 12th at the Basketball Complex, Indore.

Exceptional Performances by Participants

A total of 375 yoga practitioners from across the state participated in the first phase. This included representation from various schools, yoga colleges, training centers, institutions, and individual participants. The first phase featured competitions for boys and girls aged 8 to 14 years.

Participants demonstrated exceptional yogasanas, both individually and in pairs, performing to musical accompaniment. In the individual category, contestants executed a set sequence of challenging asanas according to a prescribed syllabus, showcasing their skill and concentration. In the pair category, the two participants displayed remarkable synchronization, coordinated movements, and physical balance to the rhythm of the music, captivating the audience.

Results and Judging Panel

In the intense and exciting competitions, practitioners delivered outstanding performances to secure their rankings. In the individual boys' category, Abhiraj Shroti secured the first position, followed by Aarav Soni in second. For the individual girls' category, Aadhya Dwivedi claimed the top spot, with Dikshika Parihar finishing second.

In the boys' pair competition, the duo of Swayam Singh Baghel and Vishesh Wadhwani secured first place, while Vedant Sharma and Tanay Purohit came in second. For the girls' pair category, Shreya Tripathi and Unnati Nahar won the first position, with Reet Srivastava and Aradhya Panjare taking the second spot.

The competition was conducted and evaluated by an experienced panel of judges who have passed national-level yoga judging examinations. The judges awarded marks based on parameters such as asana accuracy, flexibility, physical balance, technique, presentation style, and synchronization with music. The entire event was conducted in full compliance with sports rules and safety standards.

Preparation for the Next Phase

At the conclusion of the ceremony, senior members of the organizing committee, including Dr. Hemant Sharma, Mr. Anil Agarwal, Ms. Raunak Soni, Mr. Prem Dua, Mr. Manoj Verma, and Mr. Chandrashekhar Tiwari, praised the participants' excellent performances. They appealed for greater participation in the next phase on September 6th, encouraging the youth of the state to make yoga an integral part of their lifestyle and to showcase their talent at the national level.

This competition is expected to promote not only the physical health but also the mental well-being of the youth.
