Stalemate Ends at Bhind Municipality as ADM Assumes Additional Charge of CMO

Administrative Stalemate Resolved at Bhind Municipality

The two-week-long administrative and financial deadlock at the Bhind Municipality has been resolved. In compliance with the orders of the Urban Administration Commissioner, Sanket Bhondwe, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Rajan V. Nadia assumed the additional charge of Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) on Thursday evening.

The previous CMO, Yashwant Verma, was attached to the Joint Director's office of Urban Administration in Gwalior on May 26, based on a report from the Collector. Subsequently, Deputy Engineer Amit Sharma was given the responsibility of acting CMO, but was not granted financial authority.

Works Halted Due to Lack of Financial Powers

Due to the unavailability of financial powers, many crucial works at the municipality had come to a standstill. The June salaries of over 450 permanent and daily wage employees of the municipality were pending, causing severe financial distress, particularly for daily wage earners.

Following his assumption of office, ADM and new CMO Rajan V. Nadia held an introductory meeting with the municipality's employees and officials. During this meeting, he issued directives for improving the city's sanitation system, water supply, and other basic amenities, as well as to expedite pending administrative tasks.
