'Srijan Samvad' Initiative Launched in Bhind

The 'Srijan Samvad' initiative has been formally launched in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh with the aim of educating young people about their legal rights, responsible citizenship, and police operational procedures. This program seeks to enhance legal literacy among adolescents and youth, integrating them with the justice system.

Inauguration and Program Objectives

The program commenced with the inauguration by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Pradeep Patel, who performed rituals and lit a lamp before an image of Goddess Saraswati. The event, held at the auditorium of Government Excellent Higher Secondary School No. 1, saw the participation of 110 selected students from the police, school education, and UNFPA departments.

Speaking to students from Government Sandipani Higher Secondary School No. 2, ASP Pradeep Patel elaborated on the scheme's objectives. He emphasized its design to foster legal awareness, instill the importance of responsible citizenship, and ensure accessible justice for young individuals.

Addressing Online Risks

ASP Patel also voiced concerns regarding the potential dangers associated with the increasing use of the internet and social media in modern society. He cautioned students against forming friendships with unknown individuals online, engaging in unnecessary conversations, and following misleading online trends, explaining these risks with real-life examples to promote online vigilance.

Focus on Legal Awareness

The police nodal officer for the initiative, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ajay Panwar, provided students with comprehensive information on key provisions of the Indian Constitution, various laws, and child rights. He particularly discussed statutes such as the POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice (J.J. Act) Act, and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, which are directly relevant to the lives of adolescents and youth.

DSP Panwar and SDOP Ater, Ravindra Vaskale, also engaged students in a direct dialogue, highlighting crucial issues like the Narcotics Act, road safety, and cyber security. They underscored the initiative's relevance in the current social landscape and encouraged young people to be aware of their rights and duties.

Bridging the Gap Between Police and Youth

Principal of Government Sandipani Higher Secondary School No. 2, PS Chauhan, stated that this innovative initiative provides creative information on legal protection and civic duties directly within school premises, bridging the historical gap between the public and law enforcement.

During the event, Reserve Inspector Arvind Singh Sikawar conveyed a message about legal provisions and the importance of safety through a poem he authored, which was well-received by the students. The program was compered by Head Constable Ramkumar Pandey, with Lecturer Dharmendra Singh Bhadauria delivering the vote of thanks.

Program Structure and Phased Implementation

A detailed schedule for weekly 'Srijan Samvad' classes for students has been released following the initiative's launch. The program will be implemented in two phases: the first phase will conclude at selected schools in the district headquarters by September 15. The second phase will run from September 15 to October 30, covering various schools at the tehsil and sub-divisional levels.

A significant component of the initiative involves organizing police station visits for students. This will allow them to directly observe and understand police operations, the functioning of Dial-112 service, and other police resources.

Present at the inauguration were TOT (Training of Trainers) instructors from the police department, Sub-Inspector Amit Sikawar, Pooja Döhre, and school TOT instructor Dinesh Singh Bhadauria, along with other officials and staff. This 'Srijan Samvad' initiative is expected to not only boost legal awareness among youth but also establish a strong bridge of trust and cooperation between the police and the young community.
