Mental Health Focus for Guna's Elderly

Special health camps are being organized in Guna to enhance the mental well-being of senior citizens and pensioners, aiming to provide them with timely essential treatment and counseling. As per the directives of Collector Kishor Kumar Kanyal, this initiative will focus on locations with a significant senior citizen population, such as Pensioners Park and old age homes.

The primary goal is to identify individuals struggling with mental health issues and connect them with specialist health teams. As age advances, many individuals develop mental health problems like irritability, anxiety, and unnecessary apprehensions, which directly impact their physical health. Early identification and appropriate counseling for these issues are the main objectives of these health camps.

The Collector has issued necessary instructions to the Social Justice Department for the smooth operation of this new initiative.

Man College Collaborates on Mental Health Initiative

The prestigious Man College in Guna is actively collaborating on this unique initiative. Dr. R.S. Bhati from the college emphasized that effective treatment is possible for the mental complexities that arise with aging. Man College will organize special counseling sessions aimed at improving the mental health of affected individuals.

This comprehensive program is being launched in commemoration of World Mental Health Day. The administration and local educational institutions are jointly committed to improving the quality of life for the elderly. This effort is crucial for a segment of society that often lacks access to mental health services.

Through these organized camps, senior citizens will receive expert medical facilities close to their homes, thereby improving their access to healthcare.
